Going green is one of the most effective ways to save the environment. While green habits have become the need of the 21st century, you need to teach your kids to be a good recyclers. Teaching green habits to your child is very important and here's how you can teach them so:
Green parenting involves several steps. Right from teaching green habits to inculcating eco-friendly habits.
Teach your child to plant trees. You may help your child understand the importance of planting trees and thereby inculcate the value of planting trees on him/her.
Save water. You should teach your kid to use less water and to avoid leaving the water running unnecessarily.
Teach your kid to be environment-friendly and motivate them to use eco-friendly products. Recycle as much as you can: glass, plastics, paper and more.
The unused electronic appliances should be always unplugged in order to save energy. Research suggests that unplugging computers, DVD players, TVs, and other major electronic appliances when they are not in use can keep thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide out of the air every year. As for small appliances such as hand-held vacuums, digital cameras and cell phones, once they are charged, keep them unplugged until required. As a parent, you may inspire your child to go green by buying green car or hybrid car.
Green parenting can help your child become a responsible citizen. As a green parent, buy your kids organic meat and dairy. Try buying organic spinach, potatoes, green beans, carrots, bell peppers, nectarines, pears, peaches, apples, and berries- the vegetables and fruits that have less content of pesticides and antibiotics.
